Maravegias Napoleon

Napoleon Maravegias is currently Professor at the Faculty of Political Science and Public Administration of the University of Athens and President of the Governing Board of the Higher Technological Educational Institute of Ionian Islands. His is Vice President of the Jean Monnet European Centre of Excellence at the University of Athens. His main research interests include rural and regional economic development; regional and structural policy of the EU and macroeconomic analysis and European integration. His experience is enhanced by his previous positions as President of the National Agricultural Research Foundation (NAGREF) for five years, Professor at the Agricultural University of Athens and Minister of Rural Development and Food in the interim Greek Government. In addition Napoleon Maravegias has participated as Science Project Leader in several European programs related with the EU rural, sectoral and agricultural policy. Napoleon Maravegias has written monographs, studies and reports of research programmes mostly associated with the EU integration and the rural development and has published a large number of papers in Greek and international academic journals. He is the author, co-author and editor of several books and articles.
